G got his work permit today. He could fly out as soon as Sunday. This is a big hurdle crossed -- granted, in the dark and in extreme slow motion, and there's still 2 slightly shorter ones to go, but a hurdle nonetheless.
Upside of the timing: He's accomplished his primary non-UK goals: he went to Vegas with me, he was here for my birthday (or as Viv would put it, birfday), and tonight we're going to see 'The Lion King' on stage, the product of tickets bought months ago. :-)
Downside of the timing: He has just come down with a cold. D'oh!!
Well, at least he got his flu shot a couple of weeks ago. :-)

boo that he's got a cold but yay on his work permit thing, then boo that he'll be gone for long periods of time, but yay that he's still working!
